One of the newer zip codes in the city of San Diego, 92130 lies just east of Interstate-5 and Del Mar, just a short distance from the Pacific Ocean. The easy access from I-5 and SR-56, combined with the close proximity to business centers, shopping, and beaches, has made it a favorite residential location for people who love living on the coast without paying Del Mar and La Jolla prices.

The nearby popular and massive Bay Club Carmel Valley offers its members aquatics, badminton, athletics, fitness, racquetball and squash, tennis, social events, spa services, pilates, yoga, personal fitness training, nutrition, child care and physical therapy, and more.
 
The Community Park also hosts summer concerts every year. The famous Torrey Pines Golf Course and the Torrey Pines State Reserve are a couple of miles away. The Pacific Ocean at Del Mar Beach is located just to the east and minutes away, so swimming, surfing, and beach activities are plentiful – all year long. There is excellent neighborhood shopping, especially in the newly renovated Del Mar Highlands Town Center. The Coaster commuter train service is available from the Sorrento Valley station a couple of miles to the southwest.
